Hot for Fall: Fox Comedy Spinoff of Nerdist Podcast Intros Spells Hardwick/Dykstra Legendary Landslide Comedy

In what is being called one of the hottest trending Fall pilots, Fox has ordered to pilot presentation a pitch from unlikely Legendary Television in conjunction with Nerdist TV and executive producer Chris Hardwick. The single-camera comedy project would see him and real-life girlfriend Chloe Dykstra build on the chemistry they exhibit during the intros Hardwick records in Dykstra's company for each of the more recent Nerdist podcasts which are available from iTunes and from Nerdist.com.

In the project Hardwick would play a young Microsoft executive who lives with his second wife (Dykstra) on Whidbey Island in Washington where the recent landslide has taken almost all of their backyard save a short strip that has now shifted physically over the property line and into his neighbor's yard.

That neighbor happens to be the Hardwick character's first wife, who lives there with jock son Art (his birth certificate reads "R2" after the Star Wars droid but he's changed it to dad's chagrin) and a new boyfriend. Casting rumors place Samm Levine in the running for the boyfriend role, replacing Kumail Nanjiani who is now attached to the Mike Judge project at HBO with TJ Miller.

When asked for comment,. Nerdist podcast cohost Matt Mira said, "I have a girlfriend again too. I didn't for a while and now I do again. I might not still be on TV every day but I have a girlfriend!"

There was an attempt to contact Hardwick's other Nerdist cohort, Jonah Ray, but the only person who answered when called was a very slick sounding guy who only seemed to want to talk about, well ... pussy.

They're looking for James Burrows for the pilot. They won't get him, they just look at him as he parks his car on the lot and goes off to make TV without them.

Are you still reading this? What's today's date?

Khloe Kardashian is now an ex-X Factor host - NY Post

I didn't watch a moment of X Factor but I'm sad because Khloe is the only one of them I can stand. I actually even think she's a pretty cool gal, but apparently it was not working out.

It's kind of like she's the Dunkleman of this show now.

The NY Post has the breaking story (link).

I just don't want young girls to look at this and think Kim's life is the way to go. Ladies, do not get pregnant before you divorce the previous guy, it's untoward.

Also, if your boyfriend is the guy who jumps up on stage at award shows at strange times you might not be living your life in the best way possible.

What I'm recording: Cartoons, Downton Finale, Robot Chicken

I could show you clips from all the Fox animated shows that are all brand new tonight or ...

... that's right, every Bob's Burgers clip on YouTube (from Fox, you know, the official ones) because you should and you're a good a kind person and you deserve to be entertained and haven't you had a rough weekend and wouldn't comedy so good that it's already been renewed for a fourth season be just the thing to change the trajectory of your three-day weekend that has gone seriously off the rails after that thing with ... well, you know.

Also I'm recording the Downton Abbey finale, but to be frank I haven't watched any of them this season, they still all sit there on the machine taunting me with their need for closed captioning and their actual run times because there are no commercials.

And Robot Chicken's season 6 finale. Always. Los Angeles Times feature on them today at this link. Preview clip? After the jump.

DVR: I am a live + 7 kinda guy. Or maybe a live +14?

(Note: This isn't MY DVR screen. My screen doesn't look anywhere near as good as this because my Time Warner Cable area hasn't been upgraded since the Rigas family went to jail and their bought the territory from Adelphia. Damn you Time Warner!)

I still have The Social Network on my DVR from July last year. I'll watch it, eventually. On my TV Jesse Eisenberg never ages a day. I would chuckle about that but people might get the very wrong idea.

I recorded the series finale of The Finder last night. Might not watch it for a while. I tend to do that will finales, series or season. Still haven't watched the Downton Abbey Christmas episode. The Fringe finale is different, all my fellow nerds will be blabbin' about it online so if I don't watch that quickly it'll "spoil on the shelf." And I hate waste.

The Finder was solid. Nice tone, quick pace ... very much like Bones, where it was born. I like Geoff Stultz, I was pretty sure this was what would make him a household name finally. I was wrong. Last year Mark Valley was in the same position with Human Target. I watched every episode of The Finder. You guys missed out.

You gotta wonder, are these solid hour dramas from Fox decimated by a schedule that has to work around three multi-night reality competition shows?

Craig Ferguson's doing this thing before his first guest recently. The marching thing with the horse. Yes, something about this makes me very happy. Here they are marching before welcoming Patton Oswalt who came by to promote his Comedy Central hour that you can get on DVD from a number of sellers including these.

I especially love when he gets makeup and hair people Tien and Lisa to join in, but only for the clusterfuck that happens when they all try to turn at the same time. It would make Ernie Kovacs proud.

Tonight's Graham Norton (BBC America, 11p eastern) has a bunch of Brits on the panel, most notably Jessie J. for Americans watching. Also a "football" hottie (read soccer) Didier Drogba and comic Simon Amstell (two Ls, he is not the beer magnate). Clip below.

Enjoy your Saturday.
